ACCOUNT MANAGER (selling commercial airtime, sponsorship & promotions)
The suitable candidate must have a proven sales record in field sales (face to face sales)
and experience in and be able to demonstrate the following sales techniques:-
• Appointment making
• Fact finding (good listening and questioning skills)
• Presentation skills
• Negotiation
• Objection handling
• Closing<
Media knowledge would be an advantage but is not essential as ongoing training on the product will be provided.
You will need to be conversant in Microsoft Word and be able to use e-mail and internet.

Must have a clean full driving license

Voluntary work at STAR Radio is limited and due to the overwhelming demand for placements within our radio station, there are a number of criteria which need to be met.
We take adults on a Station Assistant Training Scheme in Programming & Sales & Marketing who are:
Over eighteen years old
Able to spend at least one early morning / morning / afternoon each week at the radio station for a minimum of three months and a maximum of two years.
Are usually engaged in, or about to start a recognised media or journalist training course
OR in full or part time work, but aiming to find permanent work in the radio industry.
Hold a full driving licence
Live near to our catchment area
Perform a satisfactory interview or one day trial period.
For clarification, shifts start at 5:00am / 9:00am & 1:00pm & last between 4 & 8 hours. They can be tailored to meet college lecture times or work times and can be changed at the start of each semester if you are a student.
