STUDIO hi darren. My partner is absolutely devastated. He went there as a child with his parents and we have been enjoying walks along the pier |
What an awful shame losing the Grand Pier!
I Have many memories of the Pier - from my own childhood and in my teens!
When my own daughters were younger, they were frequent visitors to the play areas.
My Dad also used to work in the workshop at the back of the Pier, repairing broken machines and rides.
Along with many other Westonians, I worry about the future of our town - it was the biggest draw for visitors and townsfolk alike. We have nothing else - and if it takes the estimated 3 years or so to re-build, Weston will become a forgotten ghost town.
Maybe the Town Council will hurry along the plans to get the Tropicana issue sorted out - but even that is years away. The town may well be a lost cause! Such a great shame.
Hi Darren, having come to Wells to work, from Berrow, people are out of their houses looking at the smoke, all the way! thankyou to Ash, Tariq and yourself, for your commentating, with sympathy and empathy,re the Weston Pier,
